Im going to run spacers when I widen my rears and with a new rear end all built up it seems stupid to run factory studs . I posted this in the wheel/tire section but didnt get any help .

I want to be able to daily drive this car with the street wheels then swap over to the drag wheel setup . What studs would you recommend.
What studs for 5500rpm dumps on MT Et streets .

I use those ARP Studs and they have worked out great. I've been to the Strip and the local Road Course without a single problem.

If it's a street car do not put 5/8" studs in it. They are a huge hassle with anything but the wheels they are designed for.

Sorry to stealy.

What studs will be NHRA legal on prostars, and that will work for stock wheels and centercaps?

IE, lenght and width.

Tony.

Using the ARP 100-7708 with the draglites (similar to prostars) and stock wheels, these are 2.5" studs. ARP also has 100-7713 that are 3.25". Both of these have same knurl and thread pitch with stock.

Are these the stock sized ARPs (12 x 1.5 I think?)?? I know they make strong ones in the exact stock size.

With those 7708 ARP's and prostars, what lug nut did you use? Do you have a part #? I'm going to get some of those but I'm afraid my closed ended lug nuts I have right now aren't going to work. Please let me know.

Thanks!

I used the weld 601-1412 closed end 1.380" shank length, 0.687" shank dia. The open end equevalent is 601-1422. McGard, Gorilla and Crager have similar lugnuts.

Closed end? Really? I figured these studs were too long to run regular closed end lug nuts. Hmmmmmm

They have fit every closed end nut I have used so far, they look like they have about o 1/4" left, but it's hard to tell without an open end nut which I haven't used yet.
