Stock is 7.625"/28spline, commonly referred to as a 7.5. What's the car used for? Are you a dirt track racer?

No i am not using the car for dirt track racing mostly drag racing, And I know a mini spool is bad for street driving, and I am thinking of some thing elce to use that will give me good power to both the wheels.

Before 1989 GMs 7.5"/7.625" 10 bolt rear came with 26 spline axles. Most of the components for this rear were designed before the 28 spline introduction. Besides, a mini-spool in a 7.5" 10 bolt is a VERY bad idea!

Like said, mini-spool in a 10-bolt with any kind of traction isn't good. Its not just street driving, that's just the streetability fact of a spool (some people don't mind it). The problem with the mini-spools is they are designed to be lightweight and for dirt track racing where there won't be as high levels of traction as there would be a on a drag strip. A couple launches (if that!) will break that mini-spool if you're hooking and have any kind of power.

Motive gear makes the 28 spline mini spool for the 7.5/7.625......

Part number# MS75-28

It only fits into an open differential, not an OEM limited slip, Auburn, ect......

Yea my car is pushing about 400 to the wheels.. I just want something cheap in there while I am saving for a 12 bolt or an 9 inch.. I would have to change my driving ways for a while..

Get an open diff and weld the spider gears. It will break, but it will probably last longer than that mini-spool.
