Unhappy Well, I joined the club yesterday at the track...SCHNAP!

I thought I was going to be one of those lucky guys who doesn't break the lil 10 bolt putting 461+ hp through it...HAHAH, boy was I wrong...

Guess it couldn't handle heads/cam/Exo Skel/T56Rebuilt tranny

Looking for a replacement....I realize this post is WWP's, I will post some pics later this week...

By the way....I was looking into getting a Moser 9", but am not sure which differential to get....I was thinking true-trac....but I really do see myself starting to race more with the car...may even change it into more of a race car and less of a street car....maybe a little of both....

Hows the detroit locker aside from the clicking?

Welcome to the club man, LOL.

You have a couple options. You can build your own from buying parts new off ebay stores & only spend about $1700 for everything & set it up yourself or have a local shop set it up. Or you can buy from a sponsor on here & get a fully assembled rear for about $2500 w/shipping.

I'm plannin on buyin the parts & having a local shop set mine up to save the extra money.

your not saving anything by sticking with a 10 bolt. You save now.....but you will break it again and keep paying for it over and over. Get a 10 bolt and be done

What kind of tires were you on? How did you launch it and how well did it hook? I think a Truetrac would be best as well.

If you have the money, try getting a Ford 9". A 12 Bolt will start whine badly with 461+hp.

This website will explain what rear end to get.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

A lot of people have had problems with the Lockers in 9 inch rears causing the rear of the car to wiggle around when letting off the gas. I would go with a spool for the direction you are heading. Bob

Yes....I have trutrac and the differential feels the same as stock when making tight turns and parking. For a DD or mostly street car I would go trutrac, but for a mostly race car/weekend driver id go spool

im thinking the car will turn into a race, some street car.....so Spool may actually be the way I go believe it or not!

this is a DUMB question I am sure....but what if I go on a long road trip? Will the spool affect the long straight drive....or is it only turning and **** thats a pain??

i still say the locker, it will be the only thing that will handle ur eventual 200shot off the line except for a spool, who cares if it wiggles alittle when u left off the gas
