Default moser axles in strange 12 bolt?

Well it is said you can't do a true trac with the strange axles so can I use the moser axles in a strange 12 bolt?

That... is a good question.

The answer to this... lies in the axle and bearing dimentions. Specifically, the ID of the bearing / the OD of the axleshaft...

Shouldn't be an issue if you get the right bearings...

The bearing has to fit not only the cup... but the axle... for it to work. Obviously, not all dimensions are the same for both manufacturers.

That is why the answer lies with the bearing itself.

Already tried this! Moser & Strange parts mix like oil & water. I tried everything in the book with my old 12 bolt but nothing was compatible. I'm just warning you, but good luck anyway!

I guess they don't have what I thought they did in terms of bearings. My 9" is a mixture of Strange and Moser, but I've got matching housing and axles

How come you can't use the true-trac with Strange axles?

from my understanding you have to modify the ends.

I don't have tcs/asr. 3 channel rear. If you look in the first pic of the broken carrier, you can see the reluctor ring on it for the abs.

I'd need to have the TT machined and a reluctor ring tacked on if I wanted to keep abs. I opted not to.

You should have a 4 channel rear if you have tcs/asr. Your reluctor rings will be 1 on each axle so changing the carrier shouldn't effect you.
