What other cars rear ends will fit on our fbods? I hear the ford 9" will work with some sawing and welding.

I am trying to get a list of the YEAR MAKE MODEL of the cars that will work and a brief description of whats involved. For one I need the year make and model of the ford 9" with the 3.9 gears.

All rear end swaps will require welding and fabrication. There are no easy "drop in" axles to use. YOu are pretty much limited to the 9", the 8.8" and the 12 bolt. Most people who do a rear axle swap order a complete axle from one of the suppliers (Moser, etc) and order the gears that they want to run with the rear. I hope this answers some of your questions. Companies like Moser or Strange make brand new direct boltin rearends for the F-body. You won`t find a rear out of another car with the same mounts and dimentions you will need for your car.

dude, there is a guy in Dallas that builds custom 8.8s for the f-body. I would put his rear end up agains any moser or strange rear end for quality and build. Here is his e-mail, I forgot his website : alotanos@myself.com. His name is Craig and he is as cool as hell and does one hell of a job. I love my 8.8 and would never put Moser or Stange "overprices" rears in my car. Here is his price: ford 8.8 center cection w/ Moser 4.10s auburn posi, Moser 31 spline axles, GM axle tubes, powder coated for 1,600. Like I said it is one tough rear end and will take 1000 hp. If u want a TA girdle it's 150 more. E-mail him

I put a Moser 9" in my SS. Bolted right in, no sawing or welding, or modification needed.
