should be a good upgrade, I was afraid of gettin gears but my LT1 came with them and its suprising how much they help and really as long as your not lauchin with sticky tires you should be fine. you puttin them in yourself?

What kind of city/highway mileage are you 3.73 guys getting? What about your RPMs at 80

I hear you there. I think Santa ran out of money before he got to my house too!

But you may wanna wait to put them in until you get a posi unit or a locker (assuming that is in your future plans). No sense tearing into her twice.

Sorry if i'm hi-jacking, but does it make sense to do gears if you plan to do a rear end swap soon i.e. spring time?

I've only checked once, a mix of city/hwy, 19.1. Just 3.73's and a lid. 2900ish at 80.

if you do the gears your self you i would say yes
because you can buy used geuine gm gears cheap(ebay) so pick up a couple of ratios and see which you like the best before do your rear swap
