It really depends on what broke, when i ripped about the drivers bearing i just bought a used rearend from a local shop for 150, included everything(both axles, gear, posi unit, case ect.)

Depneds on what breaks as far as what you should replace when doing the repair.

Some people break an axle, some strip the pinion gear, some toast the posi. Personally, I shredded the gears in my Torsen on the 1-2 shift.

has anybody used an aftermarket posi, with moser axles with c-clip elim., and stronger gears? And if so Im interested in what kind of times they ran, or if not at the track how much power are you able to put through it? I know that the 10 bolt is still weak but im interested to know seeing as you can build up one of those up for about a third of the price for a 9'' or 12 bolt.

The problem with the 10 bolt is that even if you put in better quality parts, they're still too small to take the beating. Save yourself time, money, and headache, and set the money back to go towards a 9in if your an m6, or 12 bolt if your an a4.

well, that all depends on the application, too

for semi-serious drag racing, then yeah. but if you're into auto-x/road race, or just want a semi-bulletproof street car rear, my money would go on a Strange 12-bolt. it's lighter and will sap less power than a 9" will.
