Just installed my own 4:10's (Pics)
What do you guys think?
The install went smooth, all new races and bearings, re-used factory pinion shim, factory backlash was .006, car has 8K miles on it. First time I put the carrier in it only had .003 backlash, so I did some math and moved it over, now it is set up with .005 backlash, and what do you think of the patten.

pattern looks good. And backlash is where you want it. My 4.10's were easy on my car, but the 4.56's on my truck were a pain in the ***. Had to take it apart 2 times and keep increasing the pinion shim to get the pattern correct.

Also: For you gear guys, when you set up your gears do you get more noise when the pinion is too deep or too shallow?
Also: Will have Kooks LT, no cats, and LM1.....Im not worried about a little gear noise i think it is normal with 4:10's so not too worried just looking for opinions on the setup from you experts....
They are GM Superior Gears(summit SAG-G75410), I had them im my last one and after muitiple 5K launches Slicks on my 4:10 10-bolt ......there was still no whine

FYI:
I finally got to run the car for a while now and the gears are great. I do not hear any wine at all. I tried putting the windows up and no radio and was at very low throttle in different gears and no noise. Same on coast. Also no noise at very high speeds. This is the second set of GM superior gears I have had now and am very pleased. I recommend these if you want a quiet street gear.
