Default Moser 9" oil change

How long after initial break in before you changed out the gear lube. Also after the initial is it ok to use synthetic or stick with normal dino oil

You can change it at 500 miles if you are worried about it. As far as synthetic I would run it then. All parts should mate well before 500 miles.

I remember reading that the warranty is void if you use synthetic in a moser 9in

That is interesting info. I really don't understand why that would matter. I am getting ready for a 9 inch so I will have to research a little farther I guess.

the gear oil you will use depends on which differential you have. you must abide by the factory recommendations or your diff wont function properly.

definetly do not run any synthetics before 500 miles. i recommend regular old gl5 rated 80/90 gear oil through the break-in and up to the 500 point. addative will be needed only if you are using a clutch or cone style posi unit.

I use Walmart synthetic 80-90-140 in my Moser with a Detroit Locker. It loves those 5,000rpm dumps.
