Default Rear End Questions

Ok....to start off, how do I determine if I have a 3 or 4 channel ABS? Secondly, I am rebuilding my 10 bolt with an Auburn unit and a few other aftermarket parts. I was just wondering what type of gear oil I should use with the Auburn unit? Should I run synthetic or conventinal? All input would be good....thanks

3 channel- no traction control 4 channel- Traction control. There is a button on the shifter console right under the radio. If it has that then 4 channel if not 3 channel

Only if someone put it in there for some reason. If they did, your abs would not work and the light would be on.

I always use the standard 75w90 oil and add the GM additive for the Auburn unit.

I already bought the royal purple 75w90 synthetic.....can I use it? What would be the negatives of running synthetic?

NO synthetic in the Auburn and use standard 75w90 oil and add the GM additive

Auburn has clutches, synthetic is too slick and the clutches will slip and burn themselfs
