i had mine put in awhile back and from day one they whine like hell... especially when u get up to around 60mph in 6th gear... seems like they get worse every week too.... i thought motive's were supposed to be pretty quiet?

Not a M6 guy, but my Motive 3.73's have whined since day 1 also. They make some pretty good noise, but I live with it.

I have GM 373'S and they are great---I had a local place called 'REAR ENDS ONLY' install mine, as well as all my Truck Fleet...that is all they do--Tranny's and R.Ends.---I know--not any help...

yeah they shouldnt make any noise whatsoever unless a carrier bearing is going out, then it should hum. but if they are installed properly with the right shims then they will not make any noise.

they COULD be wearing out prematurely so id watch out.

well i used to have 4.10's (dont know what brand they were) and they werent anywhere near as loud as these 3.73's.... i just had them put in not long ago buy a GM mechanic with a brand new install kit and i noticed on the way home how much louder they were than the 4.10's i had.... and it get's louder and louder as time goes by... they've been in about 4 months now and they howl like crazy!! around 65 or 70 they whine while on and off the gas, but when u are on the gas it's horrible...... if the setup is actually way off then how much is that hurting my performance, will it run alot better when set up right??

Something is definitely wrong with the unit, you need to have it checked, they are more then likely not rideing/meshing right, there shouldn't be much noise at all, & if its getting worse in a short period, thats telling you there is something wrong for sure.
