Default Keep 4.10s or go back to 3.42's?

My ring and pinion bearings are bad so while im changing it, i figure i might change the gears. Should i go back to 3.42's? I dont know if i am doing a bigger cam or going with nitrous. Opinions?

if your going to be pushing over 450rwhp you probley should look into 3.73 gear, with nitrous u will be shifting so many times it wont be funny

I'm going with a 3.50 gear with my 6sp. with the 9", i'll be running nitrous & the stock cam, i would say no steeper then 3.73s if your cammed, which i see you are, the bottle will be ALL the gear you'll need lol., so even 3.42s will be fine, so i vote YES to the 3.42s.

isnt it better to have steeper gears for cams? Because otherwise down low at the track will suck for power?

apparantly my driveshaft bottomed out and it fucked everything up. I dont know how it happened but i was driving and randomly heard metal to metal when slowing down and whining while driving. Had a mechanic check it out and he said it was bearings. So im stumped..

I recently just had 4.10s and it was all gravy til i broke 3 teeth of my pinion gear. Those 4.10s aint no joke but I still cant decide if I want to go back threw that again.

You 6sp. guys, set the 10 bolts aside, buy a 9", just my .2 cents.

I think the 3.73 would be a great gear for nitrous in your case even with it cammed, if you weren't running the juice, i would say 4.11/4.30s, but the nitrous is going to give you all the gearing you need LOL, if you know what i mean, thats why i'm staying with 3.50s in my 9", but i'm running a stock cam too.
