Default Cash For Clunkers You Can Get New Camaro!

http://www.motortrend.com/features/c...et_camaro.html

Anyone see this you can get New Camaro V6 with the Program but it has to be the Automatic. Because the M6 gets 1 MPG less in City it says. So makes it 21 Combined Car has to be 22+ Combined.

Many car now, the auto gets better mileage than the stick version.
Just check around the mileage of new cars and you will find this to be true.

1. People can't drive anymore. I have NEVER gotten worst gas mileage in a stick. Owned 2 camaros. One with stick and one with auto. Auto got 24 mpg and stick got 27 mpg. Both where stock numbers for this comparison.

2. MPG ratings have a **** ton of estimation, variables, and fudge in them.

It is not possible for an auto to get better fuel milage. The 6 speed autos they use have ungainly weight. It takes energy to automate an automatic transmission. Even with the TCC locked, the energy to provide that fluid pressure comes from somewhere.

Thats pretty sweet man. Yeah I think the reason the stick is rated lower is because the population in general is getting dumber and just can't do it and they have to factor the avg IQ of people being a 3.2 now days. Good breakdown 2002 z28.

something else to keep in mind with a lot of cars with autos is that they have a dual clutch tranny. That is-- they are a manual tranny with a auto clutch which makes them an auto tranny. this gives them the better mileage--but this really only applies to many of them more expensive cars.

but what has been said in previous posts is also true, manuals are now driven more "sportingly" and not to save gas or get better mileage.

Wow, you guys need to do a little research instead of spreading misinformation on the internet. The EPA knows how to drive a manual. The auto gets better fuel mileage because the manual is geared more aggressively.

Dude, it's obviously a conspiracy against manual cars and their drivers....geez.

That is not the entire picture.

What about the fact that manuals have always gotten better gas mileage YET they have always been geared more aggressively? Because the automatic has some gear advantage in the TC itself during torque multi-x It sounds like you made an assumption...

Perhaps it is the better efficiency of newer auto trannys (6+speeds, dual-clutch, etc) and other factors accounting for them getting better mpg compared to manuals. But this only helps to boost the demise of cars with manuals in this country.
