Default Is the Cadillac CTS-V 550hp going to share it's motor with the 2010 Camaro!?

Will the fastest Cadillac ever built having the detuned ZR1 Ls9 6.2 liter supercharged engine pushing 550 hp and 550 tq. be in the new Camaro??!! I believe this same engine will be the " Big dog on the Option list " when the Camaro does finally makes its way to the street!! Motortrend says only official "estimates" it at 4.3 sec from 0-60! Now that's what I'm talking about!!

Looks like there are three 6.2 litre supercharged engines in chevys lineup.
LS9 ~625hp for ZR-1 only
LSA ~550hp for cts-v
LS8 ~ 525hp maybe in the camaro?

Seems to me that the base v8 will be the LS3 though.

I don't doubt the Camaro will eventually get some form of the LS9

Considering what people are getting out of the LS3 with a cam and headers, I'll take it.

ZL1 is a sweet idea except for the fact none of us on this thread will be capable of affording one, LOL.

Why do you say this?

While nobody knows for sure, the LS8 is the most likely motor for the top dog Camaro while the LS3 will likely take it's place as the base V8. I hope this is true!

"The supercharged 6.2 L LSA is similar to the LS9 and scheduled to debut in the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. Producing an estimated 550 hp (410 kW) of power and 550 ft·lbf (745 N·m) of torque, the LSA features a smaller 1.9 L capacity supercharger rather than the 2.3 L variant of the LS9. Other differences include a slightly lower 9.0:1 compression ratio, single unit heat exchanger and cast pistons."

Just a smaller SC

I thought I read somewhere that the LSA wasn't scheduled for release until the 2010? Maybe I'm thinking of another engine...

I have a hard time seeing a 550+hp camaro with the Z06 at only 505hp and already in the 70 grand price...

then again a limited edition camaro could fit that description.

Ok think about it...........

The 2002 Camaro SS = 345HP
The 2002 Corvette Z06 = 405HP

The 2008 Corvette is going to have 650hp....
Why wouldent the 2010 Camaro have something close to that?
500+ hp would just seem RIGHT! lol

The Z06 will get a version of this motor awell when the ls7 goes away. Chevy will offer somehting to compete with the gt500, and the ls3 won't be it. Since the ls3 made it to the GXP g8, it will likely be in some form of the camaro as well.

Quick Reply: Is the Cadillac CTS-V 550hp going to share it's motor with the 2010 Camaro!?
