Default Car alittle sluggish from a roll???

So my new t/a mods in sig the 98 put down good numbers and is great out of the hole all the way up through the rpm band. But on a roll like 40 to 60mph it's pretty sluggish it just doesn't pull as hard as I would expect especially for a ls2. So I'm trying to figure out why I'm thinking either the exhaust is holding it back exhaust is Obx lt catted y that looks like crap and flowmaster. Or could it be the 2.73 gears? When ever I hit it on a roll it was in 3 with tc off. Thanks

Is your car throwing a code? If not I would say put some 373 and a catless y. Maybe changed plugs don't know what's sluggish to you.

no codes sluggish to me it just excelerates kind of slow from a roll for a car that put down 395 like i raced a mazda 3 from 50 to about 120ish and i beat him but he took at first and i had to catch up and only put about a car car and half on him. and no i didnt have traction problems. But like i said before from a stop it pulls pretty hard its just on a roll idk. Ill try puting new plugs in and im saving for a 12 bolt.

What torque converter do you have? It's tuned right? I would go with what he ^ said about the 3.73 gears anyway.. I don't know how you can stand those 2.73s!

Also, is it staying in 3rd then once you gas it or dropping to 2nd? I know mine will drop to 2nd if I punch it around 40, and it's definitely not sluggish then. That's with 3.73s.

i think it stays in 3rd to tell you the truth that could be another reason. No not tuned yet just had it dynoed my tuner was busy but im waiting for him to come back. Yea i hate those gears had them in my lt1 and couldnt stand them!

You have an auto, 40mph rolls are dead spots for them.

How long to down shift if you go a auto? What stall converter? Try putting it in 2nd gear and gunn it from 40 it should pick up quicker than it in drive because of the time for it to downshift unless you have a built trans.

Yea I talked to my tunner today we are going to work on the trans tune he also said that with the size stall I have and gears he thinks I was in a dead spot so I'm going to put in some 3.42 gears he has and get it tuned for now. Also going to ditch the exhaust and get a bigger stall and 12 bolt.
