Default Cheap Horsepower? What would you do?

Hey guys, I'm new to the ls community. I've had several old chevy's but not anything of this kind of technology. I'm just curious.. What is the best way to gain about 100 hp, keep my a/c, and stay with good gas mileage. My current set up is 99 camaro ss. 241 heads, ls6 intake and tb, pacesetter long tube headers, 3 in stainless borla exhaust. .550 lift cam (my estimation). Obviously the auburn posi rear end and 6 speed. Other than that I don't know much more about the bottom end. What would ya'll do? turbo? supercharge? nitrous?

thanks!

Cheapest while keeping good gas mileage will most likely mean going with the bottle. Take a look at the sponsors on the right, there are plenty of guys that run a 150 kit (with all the supporting stuff) without a problem.

Forced Induction is going to provide the most horsepower, and the best mileage. While driving, the car is not using anymore fuel than what it does now, but under boost it must compensate for the added oxygen. I personally would go with nitrous if you want cheap. If you want something you can eventually add to (for example, if you go with a built engine in the future), I would save a little more money and go with a turbo or supercharger. I have seen stock engines put down around 550WHP with a D1SC and meth/93. Similar can be done with a T76 turbo. You can also do pretty cheap turbo kits as of late, check out the FI section. Don't forget upgrades you would need, like a built trans, rear end, more fuel, etc.

100 shot. The stock bottom end should be able to hold it as long as you don't go through bottles like its your full time job spraying the car.

I had nitrous for a while. It was installed and tuned by a shop (or so I thought). 100 shot yelled me 103hp. This was a TNT wet kit. I took the car up to Speed Inc to have tuned again because I purchased the Nano kit. When they hit the nitrous it leaned out really bad. I didn't have an upgraded fuel pump to keep up with it. So they recommended not using nitrous. I pulled it, sold it, and saved for a Supercharger.

I guess what I'm trying to say is make sure your tune is done by someone that knows what they are doing and have supporting mods.

Cheapest for 100-150hp, bottle.

More than that and you're going to need a new bottom end, and making a ton of power with boost seems to be more reliable than making a ton of power with a bottle.

My H/C car was an absolute blast on a 100/125-shot. It was absolutely perfect for the 275 Nittos I had on it.
