Default Hey I really need help bad

I have a Ford focus Z TS 2001 and I've been working on it trying to get it ready for November I get my license that in my whole life I've dreamed of having a car so I found one real cheap and I put a new motor mounts on a new thermostat housing spark plugs and oil change and transmission fluid change and I went to crank it up after it has been sitting for a week and a half and the headers started smoking white scared don't know what's wrong

Alright guy, slow down there. Did anything get spilled and splash on them? Anything touching them? Morning dew? Or just sitting for so long it had build up. I'm not a mechanic but think of anything that might be trying to burn off of it.

If you spilled any oil or tranny fluid on any part of the exhaust system then it will smoke and burn off..

Go drive your car for 15 min and get it hot, all smoke should go away..

Sometimes just touching the headers with dirty hands will cause it to smoke for a minute while it's burning off..

A little puff of smoke is one thing, a cloud of smoke that won't stop is pretty obvious..

Wrong section for this sort of vehicle. Plus, this thread is already in the Lounge.
