Default 02 Camaro Headlights?

Is there a way to manually turn the headlights off on these cars? The manual is like a maze and doesnt really say...anyone know if its possible?

during the day you can, but at night once you engange the car (put the Ebrake down or shift to drive) they will turn on automatically, you can turn the interior lights off with the dimmer switch but not the headlights, must be a senor

Yes there is a way, in short you have to loop the wires for the sensor (basically what GM did on the Firebird). The sensor is in the windshield defrost vent, loop those wires and you have manual control.

Yes, you can shut off the lights, anytime you want.

With the car shut off, pull up one click on the e-brake, enough to engage the switch (under the console). then leave it there & start the car. No lights. If you want lights, you can then use the manual switch. If you happen to push the brake lever down, the lights will go back to normal, & you'll have to shut the car off & start over.

Yes. What I did was get to the ambient light sensor that is in the defroster grill on top of the dashboard. I pulled the out the radio head unit and found the wires that went to the sensor, spliced in two 500 ohm resistors from Radio shack into the power wire which makes the sensor think it's daylight all the time thus giving you control of the headlights.

Sounds like Roadhouse could help you out as far as the wiring, since mine is done I wouldn't know what to look for, if he has time that is. Let us know how it goes!

Try this link.

I opted to ditch both the DRLs and the auto headlights. I like manual control over all my lighting.

I know in the newer Tahoes with auto lights if you push the Dome override button multiple times with the automatics lights on and the switch turned to "off" it will chime and turn to manual mode.

Id figure things out before you start disecting(sp?) your dash.
