Cheer me up :-(
i have a 97 ws6 and its in really good condition..Just that i bought headers and install was a bitch..Ive put $1500 on my credit card already and now my alternator decided to take a ****..On top of that, i see small leaks under my car meaning the water pump is going soon..So in a matter of 1 month..i accumulated $3000 in labor/repair/mods/misc/.. Thank God for no interest for 1 year but i feel really down about all this..Who knows, in 5 months the ******* fuel pump will crap out..
I was just curious who else has put so much money into their car towards repairs and actually is financing it like me..

eeeeek. that sucks man. it seems like when **** goes wrong, it goes wrong hard. within the span of a few months i had to have the radiator replaced, new tires, the heater crapped out, and ive yet to fix the dents from the time i spun out. (which is why i had to get the new tires) luckily the alternator and water pump arent too expensive if you replace them yourself. hopefully everything works out well for you man. if not, just get yourself a 12 pack, and drink your problems away.

At first I thought it was BLKWS.6 posting Btw, if BLKWS.6 can end up loving his car and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, ANYONE can. He's right tho, 3k for all that **** is kind of... insane. The alternator you can change yourself, go to NAPA and get a remaned unit with a lifetime warranty. Fuel pump? Trap door method (although argued to death and I'll get burned at a stake for suggesting it probably). Water pump? Patience and set aside a day to do the opti because if the water pump is going, the opti can't be far behind IMO. All those parts, even new, should run you well under 1k. Do you know of Sam Taylor pontiac? If not, PM me. I don't blame you for paying for LT install, I did on my LT1

Lets put it this way, you see all the **** I had replaced? My total labor INCLUDING dealer-visits came in at $500ish.
Almost forgot. I had a no-crank issue that was caused by a connection in my column. The dealership ended up being nice and fixing that for free. THey dont even know how. They took the column apart/put it togather and I never had an issue again.

oh dude, Im 20 and my mods are all on credit cards as is the car itself (financed) the payments suck but you gotta pay to play. I need to tune out the rear 02's cus my check engine lights on but I've put it off for months because its like $75. Try to do ALL installs yourself if you can (and maintainance) saves some cash.

My **** got broken into last night and they managed to lift my new pioneer deck along with my new alpine amp and left everything else. Atleast they had the ******* common courtesy to "properly" unhook the connections.....however they did rip the headunit out....******* BASTARDS!

yep lt1s are a pain. The only way i can cheer you up is say go under the car and fix that **** your self with a friend. When your done you'll feel alot better. your getting ripped on labor man. But go buy a mustang you will be replacing all that **** and your tranny.. I have my stories. Lt1s are strong just take car of them and watch the temp. Make sure your rear end is bolted up well too that will kill them along wiht fluid unless you want to replace that soon too.

ive never put mods on a credit card. any item that is a commodity, or not necessary, comes straight out of checking...i gotta have cash left to buy mods, cuz carrying debt on **** you dont even halfway need just doesnt make sense to me. I wanna play, but damn it, my toys will be paid for and not hanging over my head for years to come.

Yeah pay special attention to the temp. My LT1 almost overheated until I caught it. Had a bad CTS. Aside from that my 94 Formula is the first LT1 i've owned and I love it. I'm severely fighting the urge to cam it.
Awesome looking car by the way.
