Default '93 Z28 coming, what to do with it?

Most likely soon I will be buying a '93 Z28 with about 135k on it (~$2k). Just got a rebuilt tranny at 118k I believe he said. Completely stock still too, sounds really good for stock though. I drove it last weekend and it felt pretty solid. Has a couple minor cosmetic things wrong with it, but mechanically it felt pretty good. Needs new tires though.

Now here's my question. I have a 2000 WS6 and 1994 Mazda Navajo (Ford Explorer Sport) right now. I could either keep the Z28 and fix a few things and drive it as my daily driver, or I could strip it down and turn it into a drag car (shooting for 10's or something). If I keep it for a DD then I could either sell my Navajo to make up some of the money or I could keep it too for some snowier weather. Keeping it would mean 3 cars for someone who is just almost 20 though. lol

What do you think?

I agree, where are you located that you would need a winter car?

In the northern 1/3 of indiana. Not too bad for winters, but we do get snow. I don't really want to drive the TA as a true DD. It's in really nice shape and I would like to keep it that way. Thats not to say I don't already drive it a lot in the spring/summer/fall, because I do. I'm just wondering what I should do with these other cars for a true DD. One of those three options up there ^^^.

Edit: Oh, and also, add to the first one "keep the Navajo and DD it."

Sell the Navajo, DD the Z/28 and put the money from the Navajo into go-fast goodies for you T/A! That Z/28 will be alright in bad weather if you stay away from drag radials.

Actually the navajo is pretty decent. Was voted some sort of "best SUV" back then too. I don't remember from where though.

Anyway, it's coming for sure now. I think I got a pretty good deal on it. Nothing mechanically wrong with it. 135k miles. Tranny was rebuilt at 118k. New rotors/pads in the front, and new pads in the rear. Not in too bad shape either. Has a couple inch crack in the rear bumper, but thats about all. I like that it's completely stock too, no more stress on it than necessary. I asked him if he ever brought it to the track(where he met me, I was there that day) and all he said was "H*** NO". lol. I got it for $2050. Now to figure out what to do with it...

I say suck it for both the exploder and the TA. With the money you get back from telling them both to step off....

Sneak an LS1+M6 in that fly *** 1993 Z.
And pickup a chevy S10 extreme package on the side with a 4 banger for DD'ing.
Plus a chevy cap to place on the noggin. You'll be my idol.....

I'd say keep the T/A, mod if you want with the extra cash, DD the camaro, and with the extra cash take care of anything that needs to be done to the Z(maint. and any issues that would bug you right away). Unless you need the utility, get rid of the SUV. The Z SHOULD be an alright car for winter overall. I met up with a local guy in the DEAD of a winter storm at Home Depot(like a good 8-12" of snow), and had to ask him how his LT handled in the snow, he said it was not a big deal at all and had never really left him stranded.....but for some reason said an LS1 would be "ballz out" for winter

An LS1 would be ballz out becuz of the front to rear weight ratio....having to lug that huge nose around would require them to hit the gas harder and since the added weight is mostly in this front catfish mockery they would lose traction quickly..............

Dood TA's are gaudy learn the ways of a jedi and hook up the Z. You cant DD and V8!!
Dont be ridiculo.

not sure how you can afford this at your age, but here goes. keep the ta if you like it, strip the 93 and drag race it, keep the navajo and dd that untill it blows up or you decide you want a different car.

Yeah, thats a problem I'm seeing right now... If I turn the Z into a drag car its going to be a literally never ending money hole for me. Something that I can ALWAYS spend something on... I'm thinking right about now like I'm going to be DDing for a while at least. I am probably going to be having open heart surgury this summer, which means no money all summer either... Recovery time is 2-3 months...

What I was saying is to DD a 4 banger. Street/Strip the Z. And sell everything else.
