took less than 2 min. to get stopped with Magnaflows
I had a buddy install my Magnaflow catback on my otherwise stock 02 Z28. We got it all together, started it up and it sounds great, not too loud at idle, but jump on it and it roars. I pulled out of his shop, turned the corner onto a 3 lane-each way 55 mph highway and jumped on it about 3/4 throttle.
Mr. Unmarked Impala did a u-turn through the median and got right behind me, following me for over 3 miles before he turns onto a frontage road. I turned at the road to my house and who do I meet at the 4 way stop? Mr. PoPo...he follows me into my driveway and reminds me that the city passed a noise ordinance and each officer must issue a minimum of 2 noise violation tickets per month. I didn't get the ticket, but he said the next time he hears me before he sees me, I'm getting one.
I'm damn glad I didn't buy the Loudmouth...but now I'm scared to put headers on it even with a catted Y pipe. Illinois sucks the big one!!!!!

Sounds like hell is coming at full throttle with headers. Not any louder at cruising. Not sure its any loader than my 75 with headers & dynomax duals. It takes some getting use to the sould of headers in a modern car though.

its not fair!!!!! my Grand National has headers, a 3" downpipe, no cat, 3" electric cutout, ATR exhaust with a 6" Dynomax bullet muffler and is probably twice as loud as this Camaro....I've never even been looked at in the GN. Are F bodies really that much of a cop magnet?

yeah they say "Arrest me Red" i don't get bugged either about my Magnaflow. It's loud so i'm throwing a 3" highflow cat to get rid of the rasp. As for the comment about"if he can hear you befor ehe see's you" tell him how can he say it's you if he didn't actually see anything

I still waiting on long tubes for magnaflow, but i tell you it still sounds good without them. Nice and deep and wide open = no competition at all with sound

Damn that sucks, but hey at least you didn't get the ticket; the magnaflow is real quiet too. Best advice that can be given is just take it easy unless you know there's no cops for sure. The magnaflow does sound real nice w/headers, though.

I had the loudmouth on my old Z and no matter how much I babied it, every cop would stare. Never got pulled over for it though.

IMO, IL is pretty easy to live in with modded exhaust. I've never been hassled for loud exhaust, even when I had headers/ORY and a loud catback on my WS6.
