Default shifter rattle

Is it normal for stock shifter on M6 to rattle? I have to keep my hand on it at all times in order to keep the noise down.

WOW.

I have been dealing with this to. I think mine is coming from the **** itself. Its driving me nuts.

Do i need to get the stick and the **** or can i just get a new ****?

I also noticed that in the early moring it doesnt rattle. But in the afternoon it rattles. Mabe it has something to do with it mabe not.

its a major pain in the **** isnt it. the holden gear stick has some sort of silicon holding the **** on but the **** itself clicks down. my quess is that some of that silicon came off exposing the metal to plastic which produced the rattle. even when i held the **** it still rattled. not sure if yours is the same but anyway. i had to buy a new stick and ****, couldnt buy them seperate

ME TOO!!! after my Short Stick went in i noticed it. I'm half tempted to take some rubber o-rings and put them between the stick and shifter and tighten the hell outta them and see if it helps.~Cole~

I have t56 in my car. I was able to take my **** off. I have a custom black ball on. Mine stops rattling when i hold the ball.

Im going to try some teflon tape on the threads and see if helps.

FIXED. lets see if i can explane how i got it to stop rattling.

I took off the large nut under the shift **** and used teflon tape on the threads. Put the nut back on real tight. I didnt go all the way down but its on tight. Put back on the **** and took it for a ride. And know more rattle.

Any questions just ask.
