Default Longtube Coating worth it?

Is it worth the extra $100 for the coating on the LT headers?

Pacesetters that is.

yes, it will help keep your pipes from rusting and it can keep temps down a little.

Yes, but for how long, I don't know. Some say the coating is good for 3-5years, others I've read have said it is gone in 1.5years. It really depends on the condition. If you never took your car out in rain/snow or when salt is on the ground and leave it garaged, you could probably spend the money elsewhere.

3-5 years? ive seen the coating last alot longer than that here in texas. yeah if it is daily driven in the snow it will rust, but if it doesnt see snow they can last along time.

my car rarely goes out in rain, and never goes out in snow.

so would it be ok to just go ahead and spend the extra $100 on true duals?

Go for the coated headers. Your headers will look better, last longer and keep engine bay temps down. My coated pacesetters are over 2 yrs old and still look brand new.

def worth it, depending on where you live the headers could be rusted pretty bad on the bottom in as little as 2-3 months if they arent coated, plus you get the added benefits of less heat in your engine bay and the pretty shinyness

These stainless steel headers are a piece of art! :-)

On my 67 I have Hooker headers painted with high temp VHT paint. It has been almost 3 years, they still look the same.

Default paint

what kind of paint did u spray on your headers?, all the sets ive ever painted rusted pretty quick and i used high temp paint i may buy the uncoated ones if i can get some nice paint on them. i may get the uncoated ones, and get some header wrap to keep the temps down.
