Default I wrecked my 99 Camaro Saturday :(

Im so sad to say theres one less F-Body on the road...
I took a corner (on hwy 150) that became sharp at the end when my front tires hit dirt on the road, they pushed and I flew off the edge, we were airborne for 30 feet when the front passneger qtr panal made contact with the ground and send us into an end over end roll hitting the rear drivers qtr panal then followed by two more rolls down the hill, coming to rest upside down on a tree (if the tree wasnt there we would have rolled 3-4 more times. I had the t-tops off and the windows down, my sub box flew out the rear window taking the window with it. We made it out of the car and tried going stright up the hill but it was too steep, we made it up diag then flagged down some people. I got a hellicopter and many other emergancy vehicles, I didnt shut the hwy down tho... passenger was okay, driver (me) went to the hospital with a fractured colar bone and some head trauma. The car is totaled. Look at the pics below, I hit my head on the steering wheel or gauges on the pillar and suffered head trauma, do you think the air bags should of depolyed? and also, the plastic seat belt holders on the side of the seats both broke off, when mine broke off it gave me extra tension in the seat belt and i hit my head, the passengers seat belt came down around his arm and brused it all up? what do you guys think?

we landed down in the trees

That sucks man. At least you are here to type about it. Don't worry, you can buff that right out. Sorry, just a little humor. Just remember, any crash you can walk away from is a good crash. Especially when no one got killed.

WOW!! Glad you and your friend made it out ok and you were both smart enough to wear your seat belts! I can't believe you both didn't get hurt more than what you did. That is a nasty hill you went down and at a fast speed too.

Holy ****!

I'm always amazed at how relatively un-injured people seem to get in bad f-body accidents.

In all honesty, you probably should have died.

The same thing happenned to me about a month ago. I was driving my girlfriend's BMW X3 home from a Toby Keith concert(weird combination, huh?), I was tired and didn't notice how curved the road was getting...ran off of it into the gravel, spun around a warning sign(or something), and recovered back onto the ramp.

Seems like people not paying attention to how fast they are going and how curvey something is getting is a common problem.

Sucks there is one less fbody on the road, but it's great that neither of you had any serious injuries.

Holy sh*t! You are one lucky guy. Count your blessings and try to learn from the experience. Cars are replaceable-people are not.

The majority of the collision was side impact and not frontal. That is why the bags did not go off.
