How to go about shipping items?
I've never sold anything online and shipped it. I was wondering how you go about doing this? I don't have any boxes and am looking to ship an LS1 manifold.
Thanks

you can either use and old box you have laying around or go to a parts store, grocery store etc and get a box that will fit. Just tape it all up and go to UPS, they will have you fill out a form, then they print you labels and send it out....pretty easy actually.

After you get it boxed up you can also take it to the post office and ship it. Thats what i do cause we dont have a UPS building or Fedex building near me.

Good idea. I work at a grocery store, I'm going to see if I can find a box that'll fit an LS1 manifold.
I had the box for my LS6, but grandparents were visiting and decided they wanted to clean. So they threw away all the boxes I had lying around from my parts.

You can ship stuff at the post office to as long as it's not extremely large. (Such as a front bumper cover, etc.) I have all kinds of boxes and packaging I keep from when I get other parts in the mail. Also if it's small enough the post office has flat rate boxes that are free and are a flat rate to ship whatever you can fit in the box.
But I have a question also...I have a Mecham spoiler for a thirdgen and also a set of leather seats I'm gonna sell... how would I go about shipping those because neither will fit in my car and I don't have a truck or anything. The big *** spoiler box is light (fiberglass) and of course the seats are f'n heavy.

i used to work in a ups store and i can tell you that those seats are probably to big and heavy to go ground you will probably have to ship them freight. meaning $120 and up

for really really small things and international items go usps. for regular stuff ship fedex, cheaper then UPS. tracking numbers are included at fedex and ups.
for the seats, find out how much they weigh. fedex ground I believe is 150lbs max. put the seats together to make a tight rectangle, then bundle it in cardboard then plastic wrap. The spoiler will be fine with fedex ground.
anywhere you go, you can print out labels online to save some money on the sh cost and to not wait in line usually. filling out forms at the store is a pain.

Also, don't use the post office unless what you are shipping is under 5 lbs. They are outragous.
