Default Purchasing a rebuilt title ws6?

What do you guys think about doing this?? What kind of questions should I ask the guy? The car has 13,000 miles on it and a 02 looks like its in good shape from the pictures, but those dont tell me much... its a far drive for me, and would like to beable to get as much info out of him as i can. Hewants 17,000 for it.... seems a little pricy to me for rebuilt title x.x.

lol... are you serious>? 17k for a rebuilt? how about 7k TOPS.

questions to ask.. maybe how he totalled it? lol.

the car was totalled. it has very little actual value. in fact depending on where you live, you may have an awfully hard time insuring the car, registering the car and getting a loan for the car.

KEEP LOOKING.

Yes that is very pricey for being a rebuilt title. Pics aren't good enough unless he has pics of all the areas that were damaged.

I'm guessing if he is asking that much he won't drop a huge amount. I'd look elsewhere tbh.

you need to be patient, or buy a reg T/A and WS6-it. that's what i did. i ended up with a nicer car for less money.

the orange color is sick. he'll get good money for that.

17k for a rebuilt title WS6 is absolutely outrageous. Where are you located? My brother just found a 17k mile WS6 in New York for $14,000 in decent shape from the pics. He's looking, too, but mostly for a low mileage, perfect shape LT1 as opposed to a higher mileage, less mint shape LS1.

that's way over priced for a rebulit title! Just take your time and you will find an affordable WS6. I got my WS6 27k miles for $13K

I agree on the base v. WS6 comment, if you can find a well priced WS6 go for it, but same goes for a base. Keeping in mind that WS6 cloning isn't exactly cheap, 650 for a semi decent hood, another $400 to prep and paint at least, then wheels/tires, so if the base isn't more than 2k less, you won't even break even.

If you really want a WS6 then hold out for one you like for a price you are willing to pay. I'd tell both the sellers in your original post to go fly a kite.

in my case:

hood=$500
Paint=Freeeebie (buddy is a body man)
Badge= $55 used (Ls1tech classifieds)
Wheels=$300 ( i went with ZR1 17x9.5s.... i wanted wider than stock)

so i got a Ws6 for $855 on top of my T/A. now, i could go and sell my oem hood for $100, and my stock chromes with new tires for $500.... so in that case the net difference was under 300 bucks.

Good luck selling the flat hood for $100, you can barely give those away, and I sold my stock cromies with tires for $400 shipped after being up on here for 3 months. Not too many people will be getting free paint jobs and you stole those ZR1's for that price! I'm not trying to be a dick, but yours is not the typical example.

New ZR1's from TomZ with tires shipped run about 1100 alone.

OK... agreed on the hood.

My chromies have 4 brand new 255 goodyears on them, they have 100 miles on the tires. i'll get 500.. i've seen worse one go for that on ebay.

The free paint and cheap wheels was just some smart shopping.

my point was, it can be done.. and for not that much if you're smart about it.

$17k is insane!!! I can get a mint condition 2001 Trans-Am WS6 with 54k on it fully loaded for under $10k right now. Also on ebay there is a high mileage 02 T/A WS6, I called about it, he said he would take $9000 for it. Its silver and he is located in Long Island, NY. PM me if you want his info, its been up for sale for a few months now. Has 126k on it but looks flawless
