LS1 GTO vs LS1 Z28...help guys, I need some help on this one...my best friend since 3rd grade and I have always been trying to one-up each other. He bought a 94 Mustang GT and I killed him with my Grand National, he had a 87 IROC and I slaughtered him with my N20 fed, cammed, 5.0 Stang. I now have an 02 Z28 A4 with LT's, ORY, Corsa catback, lid, some free mods, and a tune...he just bought a bone stock 04 GTO M6 and is talking all kinds of trash.
bottom line...do I whoop him, does he beat me, or is damn near a tie?

you should beat him by a length or two maybe. the GTO is a little heavier than you with tiny rear tires. my SS with just a lid and catback beat an 2006 GTO 6.0 from a roll by 1/2 car. a lot of it is driving though...

thanks guys!!! that's kinda what I was thinking, especially since he's only had the car 2 days and has never owned a stick before. He's gonna be in for a real surprise when I throw the cam/head package at the Z this fall!

dude you will, ive raced both a 06 and a 04 gto 6speed. The trans am or camaro ls1 WILL beat the ls1 gtos (which is ur 04 that ur talking about). But usually have a tough time with the ls2 gtos (the 06). This is stock for stock you will beat him if its a 04.

haha, this guy doesn't stand a chance....I never knew how much he wasn't a car guy!
he told me he is going to paint his rotors???? So I asked him what color....
and, before he races me, he wants to race a guy at work with a Trans Am WX6 (I guess that's like 3 times better than the WS6 pkg.)

You got him by a couple of lengths.....GTO's cant hook with those pizza cutter wheels + they have a fat *** and torque management, however GTO's is overall a better quality ride as far as interior.

even if you do mess up out of the hole..your going to win, I just fricken said that. They don't have the top end fbodys do, if you screwup off the line you would be even with him till about 60 at most then you'll just walk it and thats shifting at 5000rpms on a completely stock car.
