Default What to offer on these two Trans AMs?

Sorry that this might just be another "what should I offer" thread, but I could really use some help as the time for me to start shopping starts around.. now!

http://www.markanthonycars.com/M303.htm

http://www.markanthonycars.com/M304.htm

I'm looking to spend $10,000 max... and these two cars are from a dealer that is about 30 miles away from me. What would you guys offer for each car, and what kind of reasoning could I use to negotiate for such a price to the dealer? They don't seem to be ridiculously overpriced... but they do seem a bit high for the mileage. Thanks.

I cant get the 2nd link to open up but the first one looks like a good deal. I would start the negotiating at 8700 or so and go no higher than 94-9500. They always have room to come down some

Red one seems a bit pricy to me for the mileage. The WS6 looks like a fair deal though maybe try and talk him down to 13000.

Red one is definetely overpriced. FWIW, i bought my 99 TA (see sig) back in January for $7K and it had pretty much exactly the same miles. I wouldn't pay a penny over $8K for it.

The WS6 is definetely priced on the high side too. I'd say $10K w/TT&L included, at the most.

But, as long as you feel you are getting a good deal,

Yeah, for the mileage, I believe these are priced quite high... although not as high as badly as some I've seen on the for sale section on these boards (no offense to anyone in particular). I figured the red one would be more around 7-8k at most... and the WS6 to be hopefully around $10k... I guess my real question here is how would I go about negotiating the dealer's prices that much? It seems like the dealership specializes in performance cars, particularly fbodies and vettes, so they might be aware these cars sometimes sell for a bit higher than what the average joe might think its worth. I tried using KBB, but the prices (retail) don't seem to be far off, so any other options/ideas? thanks.

I would try $8k for the red T/A, forgot to check the mileage on that one though. And $12k would be a fair price for the WS6 imo with 80k. You def. aren't going to get that car for under $10k I wouldn't think though.

you won't get the WS6 for the $10,000 max you have to spend. they MIGHT do $12,000 at the lowest. the red one you might be able to get for $8500-$9300 though since both cars seem bone stock & clean shape and not extremely high miles.

Fair enough, I understand that the WS6s are usually a couple grand more compared to a regular TA. Do you think the red one, at around 100k miles will make a dependable DD throughout college? I know there are lots of variables that come into play... and that some LS1s can see 200k with minimal problems, but the mileage still seems fairly high, and perhaps I can use that claim during negotiation?

the red car id go no higher than 9000. as for the ws6, 10, maybe 11 if its flawless (and thats after they take the carbon fiber **** off). i would say the red one is the better deal. exterior and interior look flawless from what i can see in the pics. just make sure you run a carfax on em.

1. You make your offer. They accept it. You finish up the paperwork and you are on your way.
2. You make your offer. They don't accept it. You say "See ya!" and walk out the door.

I would say 9 for the red T/A and 11 for the WS6.

Pretty much they are asking for $14,000 for the ws6 with 80,000 miles. That price is way too high. It should be about $11,000-$11,500. Plus it has that gay *** carbon fiber all over it. The red one is also priced high for the miles. I would only offer about $7,800 max on the red one. i think the red one is a better deal if you could get it for $7,800. It looks to be clean and in good shape. Just high miles. And these engines will last a long time if you dont go putting huge hc packages, forced induction or big shots of spray on them in stock form. They definetely need upgraded internals for big hp applications. But if you keep it to exhaust and bolt-ons it will last a long time if it has been taken care of.

Yeah I've talked to him on over the phone once or twice, seems like a nice guy. That SS you're talking about is nice, but I believe it was an auto; I'm looking for a 6speed. His cars seem to sell pretty fast though, according to his website anyway. What's your experience with him; have you dealt with him before? I emailed him about the red TA, and he says the "best" he could do is 9.2k plus ttl. I'm hoping he can just do a bit better, and work on a trade with my 02 escort zx2, which I'm trying to get rid of before driving off in a new car.
