Default 63 chevyll lsx up & running

It only took about 3 months and more money then I wanted to spend, but Man this thing runs good..I'm very impressed. its more then what expected, This is coming from someone that as a 406 sbc with 13:1 & a .640 solid roller(anyone want an engine LOL). Now I can really drive the car around town & get fuel at the pump. I'd like to thank LS1TECH members for all the info.

Default chevyll

I'm using a stock front clip....It's a stock 6.0L with a small cam, carbed , & NOS. Can't wait to go to the track (may 17). one of these days I'll get painted.

I need to clean & rejet the carb because it has a slight stumble off idle. I also need the "IO GEAR" usb to serial cable for my computer. Just a handfull of things to do.

At 3000 lbs I hope so. I'd be really happy if runs low 11's on motor.

I was told it is 214int 224exh 559 568 114.5 lobe sep. I bought the engine from a LS1tech member. all stock except for the cam & springs(and ARP fasteners).
TH350 with PI 3800 conv.
9" rear end w/4.30 gear, 29x11.50-15
I think I might change to a 3.89 or 4.11 gear

That car should run mid-low 11s on motor like falling out of a tree.

Since you're spraying it, you can probably get away with a little less gear.

Good luck man. And make sure you let us know what she ran on the 17th.

Oh yeah I do have one problem, the starter stays engauged for 2-3 seconds after the engine is running, I checked the teeth on the flexplate they aren't damaged. Its a TCI flexplate and a new starter from advance auto parts #96220. It dosen't grind when cranking so I assumed it doesn't need to be shimed. I had to replace the starter after only starting engine about 10 times(drive gear broke). The new one does the same thing. Just wonder if anyone has had this problem with TCI flexplate?

Went to the track this weekend ran a 1.73 60' 7.84 @ 88mph, not too bad off the trailer with no tuning. the next morning I changed jets and added a 6.5 power valve after checking plugs and changed tires from 29x11.5-15 worn out quick time pro to 26x8.5-15 slick. remember the rear gear is 4.30. The car picked up a little 7.62 @ 90 mph.

Not bad.... those times are good for high 11s... the car would run mid 11s w/ a better 60'.

So these passes were on motor correct?

What was your 60' on the 7.62 pass?

OK I went to the track again, the local track has a street radial tire class. I figured I'd strap on a set of 275/60-15 mastercrafts and up the carb jets to 81 pri & 85 sec with the 6.5 power valve already installed and change the timing curve. It went a 1.77 60' 7.66 @91. I thought that was amazing sense a week earlier the car went 1.63 60' 7.62 @ 89 with 26x8.5-15 slicks. I think I'm moving in the right direction.

congrats, sounds like ya got a good quick car, tuning and watching the times go up is the fun part where are you located? it'd be a good race with my bu.
