Exclamation !?! Dex Cool & Power Steering !?!

This **** is really annoying me now! I need some direction..

1. power steering fluid is getting in my coolant reservoir!

2. a mix of power steering fluid and dex cool is getting splashed under the hood in an area right above the power steering reservoir. (orange like coolant but feel like fluid)

there are NO signs of liquids or fluids ANYWHERE on any parts, but mysteriously shows up sprayed and splashed under the hood. WHATS GOING OOONNN????!!!! What els should i check, look for, what would i need to replace??

..

I wouldnt put money on it, but maybe something to do with Power Steering cooler? Im not sure if coolant runs through it or not, but if it does then it sounds likely.

Is your (PS) power steering fluid actually going down?

I don't think PS fluid can get into the coolant. But tranny fluid and oil can.

I've never heard of anyone in any type of car having PS fluid in their coolant system.

So, make sure its not tranny fluid. Tranny fluid will get into your coolant if you have a tiny crack in the radiator.

Make sure your water pump is not leaking from the gaskets or from the bottom of the pump in the center.

Might have a leaky water pump and a leaky PS pump, thats where the spray would hit under the hood for both scenarios.

maybe ill have to dig deeper to check those spots out but as far as i can tell even after i cleaned the whole engine bay theres nothing on or around any of those parts, only shows up under the hood, this what makes it so mysterious. ill use dyes in the fluids and report back tomorrow

True, and the fluid that appears to be coolant could just be rain water or from going through puddles that splashes up and mixes with it. I was also gonna say any cracks in the PS tank, could be squirting a tiny stream out when under pressure.

+1 for power steering cooler. It's a very common problem. Either replace it with a new one, or bypass it.

+2 power steering cooler and check the power steering cap there would usually be a crack around the top edge of it that starts and will usually leak out and there would be no sign, or it could be your overfilled on PS fluid and it is spilling out

would it be a bad idea to take that coolant and run it through the throttle body?..

Would for sure use some type of solvent or degreaser to help rid the cooling system of oil.
