Calibrating the speedo

Calibrating the speedo
I just got a damn ticket because of the rear change I did last month. It from what I understand has the smaller 273 gears out an auto. car. Mine is a six speed that had 327s in the rear. I knew it was a off about 10 but I guess its closer to 20 because my speedo said 60 and got a ticket doing 78. Is this something I can do or need to have done. Which ever way it goes I need a recipt to help get me out of the ticket for proof I had to have this done. Is it exspensive?

You can do it yourself...if you've got the appropriate software, a laptop, cable and so on. Talk to these guys http://www.trifectaperformance.com/. The problem is, you need to absolutely know what the gear ratio is before anyone can help, as the computer has to be told what the ratio is to get the speedo to read right.

Thanks alot fleetmgr. I've seen that company before but never noticed what they actually did. ? tho. Going by what I know....if that rear has stock gears from an auto car....would those stock gears "2.73s" throw off my speedo by almost 25 to 30 mph?

You Can take it to a dealer but all they can do is reflash to stock files, I do not know if a tech2 can change things like gear ratios.
As far is court is concerned, speeding is speeding, take the hit, see if they can knock it down to malfunctioning equipment or something to that effect.
