Default Weird window sound.. not the motor though wth is going on?

Ok so I've replaced window motors a few times before, I'm pretty sure this isn't the problem.

My passenger side window will go down with help, but it shakes and grinds as if the regulator gears or gears on the motor are stripped off. The motor is working fine (goes down fast and doesn't sound strained when helped)

You guys ever had this problem ? How do I fix it... ?

The noise is like a grind/ stutter/ clunk..

can anyone post a "regulator" fix guide..
All I can find is window motor replacement.. which I already know how to do.

Its near impossible for the gear/teeth to strip. This is a common problem that usually happens when the motor detaches from the regulator. (loose bolts, etc.) If you check that connection, you'll probably find your problem.

Just had that problem. Get the door panel off and the motor out. I just had this myself... The inside of the window motors gearing had torn up, and was causing a grind/stutter. If you tilted the window just right by hand, it would be fine.

Pull the motor out, and test it. If you need a new motor, I have one for sale, brand new.

So you guys are saying I need to replace the motor because it has either came loose OR the gears have stripped off the motor (not the regulator) correct ???

because the window will go down or up with help if i physically push or pull on it. but without help it will grind and stutter, not move.

Wssix99 4wofury are correct. If it is making that sound either you didn't get the motor close enough to the regulator or the gear on the motor is worn. My guess is you need to move or "snug" the motor gear to the regulator gear. To much slop and it makes a nasty noise. Also I don't know what you do when you replace the motors, but I always make sure the regulator is greased up really really good.

I had that happen to my replacement motor in my driver door once. The worm gear inside the motor stripped.

No - we are saying you need to take the door panel off and look at the connection of the regulator and motor. Once you look at it, the problem and fix will be obvious and quick.

Given your description, I'll bet that your motor is fine, NOTHING is stripped, and that your motor is secured to the regulator with a few loose bolts. The only way you are going to strip gears, etc. is by letting the problem go on for a long time.
