Default Trouble Starting - Clutch Switch?

Car is a 98 Formula. Lately when I push in the clutch to start my car, everything comes on as it should but the car will not fire up. But all of the lights on the dash are on as they should be. Usually on the 3rd or 4th try it will start up. It is obviously not battery related but I think something with the clutch not thinking the clutch is pushed in? Is that even possible? Other times it starts on the first try but lately it is getting worse.

Any ideas?

Short the pins and see if your problem goes away.

The pins on the harness that goes into the clutch start switch. There's only 2 of them. Short them (bypassing the switch) and see if your problem goes away. If it does, then the switch is bad.

Is the security light illuminated during the no start condition? If so it's the VATS system.

Another suspect would be the crank relay if the security light is not on.

Just the hell of it swap you starter relay with a fan relay and see if that stops your issue. These relays are known to go bad. If you have a bad realy then you'll have to replace them.
