Default Help Car won't start - Security Light

For the third time in the last couple of weeks my 98 Camaro won't start.
The first time I left the key on for ten minutes while the Security Light flashed, then got the car started.
Today the car would not start so I left it sit again...this time the light just stayed on instead of flashing. On my third try after a 1/2 hour or so it finally started but the secutity light is still on.
I read some where about bypassing the system......anybody know how to do it?

clean the key very good.
i work on the car had oil on hand and got the key dirty.
security light came on and would not start.
after cleaning car start no problems since.
if cleaning does not work you may need to get a new key from dealer or ace hardware, etc.

Does it turn over or just "click" and do nothing? I have a similar problem that ended up being a loose battery connection...the cable was touching enough for the lights and locks but not enough to allow higher current for the starter.

my ignition lock cylinder was the culprit in my car. I had to do the VATS bypass for now until i get a new lock cylinder.
