Default Headlight only flips down?????

I am beyond frustrated right now. To make a long story short my headlight motor went out a while ago and I took it out and let the car sit and two of the five female wire prongs in the motor connector (the two prongs that control the motor) got corroded. Turns out NAPA sells those exact prongs and the little green rubber sealer so I replaced them both. Everything is hooked up (headlight motor to connector and headlight to motor) and I go to check it out and the damn thing only flips down. I lift it up manually again to try and see and the damn thing only flips down....WHY??? Thanks in advance.

You might want to make sure the wires to the prongs you replaced are still good. A lot of time, if a connector is bad, the wire will be pretty nasty a couple inches beyond the bad plug.

Well I am pretty sure that the wires are fine becasue I had rigged up something prior to getting the proper prongs and it worked just fine so I dont understand how it worked then and it doesnt work now...plus it gets the power to shut the lights just fine. I guess I just dont understand the electrical aspect of how it works....

Check the prongs in the other connector. When I had this problem, I had to replace the terminals in both the female and male connectors.

The motor is brand new, therefore so are the male prongs. That is why I am so stumped. Thanks though.

Try putting 12V to the motor terminals and see if the thing will turn. Reverse the polarity and the motor should run the other way. If your new terminals are good and your new motor isn't a dud, you may have a relay issue.

You know I feel like an idiot after mixing up the two lime green wires that go to that connector...wow. I guess I could put some of the blame on GM for making two out of five wires the same color. Oh well, it's all good now.
