interior blower motor noise
Hey there,
My blower motor works fine at lower speeds I and II but as soon as I go the III and IV it makes a awful noise like the noise if you were to stick you hand on the ceiling fan. Is this a common problem with an easy fix? Or is it time to get a new Blower motor/fan? Thanks

Maybe you have some missing blades that have broken off causing it to be unbalanced at those higher speeds..?
I took pictures of where it was located if u want

I had a lot of leaves in my blower motor when I pulled it apart. I was literally shocked how many leaves worked themselves into the motor casing. That being said, I tried everything I could to stop the noise. I blasted compressed air through the motor casing and greased the hell out of it. Still made the noise. I ended up just buying a replacement from Amazon for pretty cheap.

When mine has done this in the past, all it needed was to have the leaves removed from it. The noise was then gone.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, pics would be cool, also how hard is it to remove? I hate working on anything under the dash area as it's hard on my back but if it's not to hard to get to then I might consider it thanks.

Sorry I forgot to re-check this and can't find the pics anymore... But heres how I did it.
1. Remove the glove box by undoing the bolts on the bottom part.
2. Once glove box is removed you will take off the part where the passenger will have their feet hit. (kick panel)
3. It is near the back and has 3 bolts that hold it in place.
I'll try to upload a diagram from the factory manuals that I have.

I actually had 10 acorns in my 'squirrel cage' fan, put there by those pesky, bushy-tailed, grey tree rats.
It was so out of balance I could feel the vibrations from it, let alone the noise.
