How do I reset trip odo on 99 trans am
I've searched and cant find anything. I just want to know how to reset my trip miles. Its never bothered me before but its really bugging me now.
I've tried pushing the ****, pulling it, turning it, screaming at it, nothing works, it doesnt move. I cant even figure out why its there

Different vehicle, different function .... but this might help ....
My '01 Suburban has a button that lets me switch between the odometer and trip odometer, and it also resets the trip odometer. It quit working.
I pulled the gauge cluster out and found that that both leads of the switch were soldered to the cluster, and one solder joint has broken. Re-soldered and it works. The solder joints for your reset switch might be bad and need to be fixed.

Thanks guys. I took everything out and found the problem. The button thing was stuck somehow. Like I said it wouldnt push it or turn, pull out, nothing. But I guess I got it unstuck and works just fine. While I was there I used a dremil to cut a couple wires or connections (not sure what you call them) in the motherboard for bulbs I wanted to turn off like ABS, air bag, seat belt, and a couple others.

Some of the bulbs (especially the never burn out LED variety for the airbags and such) will just set off other default MIL indicator bulbs if removed from the cluster.
This will keep going on and on and on until you have a non functional cluster.
Ask me how i know this (I have an aftermarket racing steering wheel, with (obviously) NO airbag).
