Default Breaking up between 1800-2200

I have a ls3 based 418 in a 4th gen, and I have been having issues where the car breaks up or sputters around 2000 rpm. The CEL is not on. I found a split in the PCV hose and, thinking that unmetered air was the problem, put a catch can on it. Still having problems. Any ideas????

What codes did you get from the CEL? It could be a number of things, but the code will point the direction.

CEL is NOT on........

Usually partial throttle sputters and hesitations are from 02 sensors starting to fail. If it clears up the instant you feel it and then give it more throttle.......02 sensor(s) is a good place to start. Meaning get it scanned to see how they are operating......just the front 02's......rears don't matter. Don't just replace them.

I could be a dozen other things too.

Thanks. Missed the "not."

I'd also suggest a MAF cleaning. I'll bet that LS3 has an oiled air filter on it?

I had this same issue and changed the MAF and it fixed it for me. Good luck.

Changed plugs and no improvement. Found a wire that had been rubbed going to the crank position sensor, wrapped it up with no improvement. Going to replace fuel filter and coil pack rack next time I'm home and try and find another MAF. Cleaned MAF that's on the car

Fuel filter changed and blew lines out. Tried new coil packs. I was home for a week so I got to play with it. It's truly intermittent. Seems more common after startup. Now I'm thinking that because the car sits that there might be some trash in the tank. Going to pull the pump out and check the sock and such. If I get on it, it seems to help, so maybe moving trash out of the way....

Having the exact same problem with my 408 I have changed coils wires plugs I also changed from my fast 102 to a stock ls3 intake and different injectors still have the same problem and can't figure it out it sputters at around 2200 and clears out with more throttle and I'm also using a racetronix 255 hot wire kit but mine is speed density tuned
