Default Fuel filler vent

Good evening. I have a 2001 pontiac firebird formula and wanted to know if someone could explain to me where the fuel vent is? Thanks.

3 lines at the fuel pump top hat. Feed, Return, EVAP/vent.

To access it you need to drop the tank or cut an access panel. Search the fueling section for fuel pump sticky.

Ok thanks. Can you tell me where the vent line goes to? If you are gonna say that charcoal canister, can you tell me where that is? Thanks.

All that fun junk is mounted on top of the tank. To access anything more than the pump basket, drop the tank.

Imma stocker. Know all the lines are on top of the tank but can you tell me from where does the evap/vent line go from there? Is it released to the atmosphere? If so where is the opening? Thanks again for your help.

No problem bud.

Why do you need to access the vent line?

Is it possible AT ALL to change the canister without dropping the whole tank down, or is it just too far into that recess to do so?

Depends, is your catback welded or clamps..

If it's the latter you can remove the muffler and tail pipes so you can remove the gas tank heat shield..

Remove the upper panhard brace and panhard rod. Loosen the filler neck and gas tank straps and lower the tank enough to do it without pinching the wires/fuel lines on top of the tank..

It's definitely not fun doing all of that on your back lol

And if you have any gas in it while you are doing it I hope you can bench at least 200 lbs minimum to even attempt it.

^^^Thanks.

I guess I will just drop the tank and replace anything else on top that needs it (EVAP pressure sensor, lines, etc.), IF and when I need a new canister.
