Another no start issue
Hey guys. Tried to upload a video to show you what's going on, but no luck. I'll explain away though.
On my way home from work, needed gas. Go to leave the gas station and it wouldn't start. Here's what it's doing.
Turn key to ON position and no crank, no even a click or anything. Seatbelt light and door dinger go off like crazy. SES light flashes a few times too. Weird part is that i tried to put up my windows and the flashing and dinging stops. Turn the key to the OFF position and the gauges go all the way to the right once or twice. Called my wife to get a jump, and nothing happened. Same results.
Brief history: had another no start issue over the winter so i bought a new battery, got the alternator tested at autozone, tested good by the way, and still had issues off and on. Sometimes a jump works and sometimes not. About to change the starter but it started working again all on it's own. Had a couple of times where it was hard to start or once started, had to keep applying gas to keep it running. All has been fine until today. Only thing that changed recently is that i got a Frost tune. Can't blame the tune either. At least i can get it scanned and not worry about throwing codes for the rear O2s and the EGR. Battery does have a slight bit of corrosion on the +terminal.

You have it in your last line...corrosion on the terminals. Clean the REALLY WELL and then use something abrasive(wire brush) to scuff up both the terminal and the battery side. Don't troubleshoot any further until you get that squeaky clean.
Check and clean the other end of the battery terminals(positive to starter, negative to body/frame. Then check and clean all the grounds..there are several on the back of the heads, ground strap(s) from engine to body/frame, etc.
If all of those check out, look into the BCM. Google "BCM problems Z28" and you'll see all sorts of whackiness these can cause.
I assume you have an F-body or similar since you didn't specify.

Sorry, got a 2000 trans am with a m6. Around 123k miles. LTs, duals, and slp lid are the mods I've done so far. I'll buy a wire brush tomorrow and get back to you. I shouldn't do it the lazy way and use Coke? Lol

Maybe post a pic? Do you mean that you have exposed copper with corrosion on it, or do you mean the corrosion is on the terminal side of things?
If they are bolted together, you never know what is between. It's just electrical 101 to check and clean all of your connections before troubleshooting anything that isn't behaving as expected.
If you have exposed copper with corrosion on it, you would be best served by replacing the cable or cutting it back to clean copper and attaching a new terminal.
