Default Howling noise

I've got a howling noise from the engine compartment that I only really notice during low speed turns. (1st and 2nd gear) It sounds like a eaton blower (which sucks because it's not) but I suspect it's my power steering pump. In order to see if this is the problem, can I run the car without the serpentine for a short while?

If I pull the belt off I'll lose power steering and the alternator charge, is that everything?

If it is the PS pump, should I get a new stocker or look at a possible aftermarket pump? I doubt it would be worth getting this one rebuilt.

You will also loose the water pump with the belt off. Do you still have A/C in the car. Might want to check that as well, Mine started squeeling on me before I removed it. As far as running it with out the belt it should be fine might want to do it after it's completely cooled down.

Yeah I vote powersteering pump. You can get used ones pretty cheap if you look around, but I'd probably just get a new one if it were me.

No belt means no water pump. It would overheat and boil over pretty quick.

Without the AC belt you'll be fine. DO NOT run the car without the larger belt, no water pump means your car will overheat quickly.

I understand the no water pump but with a completely cold engine it would take a min or so to reach overheat temps.
