Hatch rattle
Just figured I'd post what fixed mine. I have true duals and the rattle was forcing an increase in my tequila/tylenol consumption. I pulled the spare and jack out, then took some thick (read double sided autobody) tape and wrapped that little black box to the antenna support. The one that records my triple digit runs through school zones. Viola! no fricken' rattle.
Now I know a lot of guys dont want to loose their spare tire and jack, to them I suggest a can of that quick tire inflate sealer ****. Or just stop whining.

Ithink my rattle is coming from the other side where the rear spring is pressed against the bottom of the trunk or where the spring sets on top of the rear axle?? Not sure how to fix that one.

Looks like the hatch area has all sorts of possible squeak culprits. I just made the thread so when someone searches like I did they have a nice starting platform.

Hey Nick,
There was a black shock sensor that came stock with the car as part of the stock security system. It was just like the thing B.W. is showing. But I think he must have taken off the cover because there was no exposed circuitry. So if you found something like that on the passenger side under the plastic molding that covers the spare, that would be the shock sensor. It had an adjustment on it and an small LED if I remember correctly.
One think that kept squeeking on me was the handle to the jack. It fit into the jack, but was loose. Just stuff a piece of cardboard inbetween so it doesn't move.
I'm glad to see the car is back and running. When you get that beast to a good point, you'll have to let me see it. This is the first summer where I didn't have a toy to play with on the first nice day
Good luck with your future mods..
Jason
