Default Car will not start...Nothing happens

The car will not start. When you put the key in nothing, no noises, no gauges, etc. Car will not turn over at all.

I had this same problem Saturday and fixed it(for the time being), by disconnecting the battery for 15 mins or so and then it started right up

Any ideas on what the real problem here is?

if you disconnected the battery then let it sit and then put it back on and it started....that's weird. it could be a bad battery. charge it with a battery charger if you own one or borrow then see waht happens. i wouldn't think that the cables would be the problem. check the connection to the starter it could be loose and you just might of wiggled it back into place after taking the battery off. if it's snug then it's most likely your battery, go to an autozone or oreilly somewhere to test the battery. you may just need to replace it.

You probably didn't have the cables tight enough. This happened with mine recently. I just went Incredible Hulk on the bolts and it's perfectly fine.

Did your security light come on when you were trying to start it?If it did,it could be your security system the reads the little bit on your key...Just an idea if it persists...
