Default Door locks problem

Lately my driver side door lock has been acting screwey. Sometimes I put the key in, turn it and itll open. Sometimes when I put the key in it just sort of moves left or right not doing anything and I have to go to the passanger side, open it, stupid alarm goes off then put it in the ignition to get it to stop and unlock the driver door w/ the button on the door.

Was wondering if anyone else has probs w/ this on a 99 FB? Any ideas on what I should do?
Thinkin about getting the remote for the locks, but I think when i use that, ill still only have the 10 seconds or so before the alarm goes off. But im sure that can be changed. Really need help w/ the driver side tho, its pretty annoying

If you get a remote you won't have any problems with the alarm going off. The remote disarms the alarm at the same time the doors are unlocked. As far as the problem with the lock goes, I don't know what to tell you. I know I had the same problem before on one of my cars, I just don't remember which one or how I fixed it.

$60 ? Get one on eBay. Much cheaper. That's where I got my new one.

*edit* This is the seller I got mine from:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...mZ120001367635
$23.44 Shipped. I got mine very quickly and it works great.

I have a section of my owner's manual on my website that explains most of it:

To program a new remote:

alright, I read up on both those links, it seems since i have the content theft deterrent system I have remote keyless entry, programming doesnt seem to difficult either, I found it in the manual. Ill buy one off ebay and come back if any probs arise.
