Default AC blowing hot air?

Supposedly the a/c system is new, but it blows hot air. It's recharged, and it blows fine, but it's all hot air? Dad seems to think heater valve or something is stuck open.... not sure. Any input?

Start by looking at the compressor when the a/c is on max. Is the clutch engaged? If the clutch is engaged, you could have other problems. More likely that the a/c isn't properly charged or the compressor is trash.

Yep, make sure the clutch is engaging - if the pressure is too low/high it won't come on. There's also a couple fuses related to the AC you can check.

Compressor does kick on, I assume that's what you mean by the clutch? I've pulled the fuses/relay and it kills the compressor, so those are working. It could be overcharged, how would I go about draining it to refill it?

just try venting a little of the "low side" there should be a small black screw on cap on the side of the accumulator (located directly behind battery, looks like a catch-can. remove the cap and push in a very tiny amount with a screw driver. If you don't hear a hissing push harder! If nothing comes out your system is dry, however if it is charged, then something should vent when depressing the valve.

when you turn the a/c on, can you hear/feel it engage?

Yeah, everything seems normal, but it's hot air. I'll try what you said.

maybe the cable to the temp blend door came loose or broke.

the accumulator should get cold if compressor is running even if blend door is not working I would think......is it?

If you dont have a manifold gauge set to test the pressures, do a hands on test...its not as accurate but it gives you an idea of the state of charge. With the car at operating temp with the A/C on MAX and high blower speed, put one hand on the inlet of the evaparator core and your other hand on the outlet of the core. They should be about the same temp when feeling it. If not you are low on charge. You may also want to make sure your blend door is operating correctly as stated above.

The lines get cool, not cold enough to form condensation, though. That's why I believe the temp. blend door is staying open, how might I fix this (where's it located?)

Change the temp door from hot to cold, can you feel ANY change in temp in the vents? Do the modes work properly, vent, floor, defrost? There isnt a heater control valve on the LS1....the heater core hoses go directly to the water pump. The Air temp door is actuated by a electric motor, and if the motor is bad you have to remove the entire dash assembly to change it. The f-bodies usually dont have problems with the temp door though.
