alright, so my rear defroster/defogger sucks. it works and all...just verrrryyyyy sloooowwwwly. just a thin film of fog takes 5 minutes just to make small lines in it. my old defroster/defogger in my old 1995 3.4L firebird used to melt half inch thick ice in 5 minutes and this one can't even fully defog a window.

are there any measures you can take to boost this puppy? i hate having to manually wipe the rear window off on dewey mornings because my defogger is a

I've had 3 4th gens. '98, '99, '00. All three worked perfect. Then again, I never drove any of them in the snow or ice so I can't speak on that. But in terms of clearing fog, the response was/is almost instant.

For some reason mine automatically turns off after only a minute tops of being on and then sometimes it won't turn back on. When the defroster is on it works fine though. I usually just drive it hard so the moisture drips off

I noticed the same thing.. both my old 95 v6 and Z28's rear defogger was wicked. if it was fogged over within minute it would be clear and when it was iced over 5 mins would melt every piece of ice no problem... Now with this 01 Z28.. it SUCKS. It turns on takes forever to start doing anyhitng then just as it starts to work it shuts off and can't turn it back on for another 10 minutes.

Maybe it's just an issue with the newer LS1s? Was there a change made to the circuit/system in '00 or '01 maybe?

My 02's defroster is non existant. I had a Cavalier which would rape my Camaro at defrosting time.
