Default Fog lights don't work...WTF?????

On my WS6, my fog lights don't work.

- I have checked my bulbs to make sure they haven't blown.... they are both fine.

- Checked my fuses to make sure none are bad... fuses are fine in my car and in the engine bay.

- This sounds dumb, but my fog light switch is set to on.

What in the world could it be??????? The light switch?

This is driving me insane!!! Anyone's help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I had the same problem recently! Change the bulbs, even though mine didn't LOOK blown, they must have shorted. Try that first... easiest solution for me, I thought my switch was gone too, not the case.

I had the same problem over the weekend, even though when I pulled the first one it looked almost perfect, but it was blown. Checked voltage on the plug when on and it read 12 v so I said screw it and put in the new bulb. Worked fine.

The passenger side one was really blown though, the filament was melted completely. The relay in the fuse box in the engine bay is the same as the one for the horn, swap them and see if your horn still works. If it does, test voltage at the wire. If you've got power, then plug in a new bulb to know for sure. What are the odds both will go at the same time? I thought it would be rare until it happened to me... anyone know of replacements that won't melt the housing but give a better tint than GE yellow? With my fogs on you can clearly see the difference b/w the silverstars and the yellow fogs..

not to be an a$$ but.... do you know how to use a test light...... probe the wires before the socket then just work you way back... a shop manual would be great to trace the wires

You do know that that the head lights have to be on before the fog lights will work.

No they don't. Parking lights are all that need to be on.

Hey everyone....thanks for all your responses!!!

I figured it out. Very strange problem. It turned out that both my bulbs were out. When I initially checked them, the filament seemed to be okay though. However, I went to Pep Boys and bough another set and installed them both tonight.... and they worked fine. ??????????

What were my chances that both of my fog light bulbs would go out at the same time?!?! I guess my lights had to have shorted out somehow... since the filaments in the old bulbs seemed okay.

Still doesn't make sense.... BUT THEY WORK!!! That's all I care about!

that's what happened to me on my old '95 bird. a headlight went out, so i went to advance to get another assembly. fixed the problem. next week, the other burnt out. it seems these bulbs have a very precise lifespan. when one goes out on any bulb, replace the other while you're at it because it'll probably burn out right around the corner, or maybe at the same time!
