Question Water inside car???

ok ok see i posted about this a while back maybe a month or so. i have a 02 SS with T-tops and i was cleaning it out and found that the passenger rear mat and carpet underneath was saturated. no where else in the car was wet only there.

then today im cleaning it again and now the front drivers mat was damp in a circle about 5 inches in diameter and i pulled the mat up and there was a circle of water underneath it.

what the hell could this be? i kinda thought t-tops at first but now idk. the mats when i lift them up have moisture bubbles on them if that helps.

what do yall think?

my dad suggested the heater core leaking but its not no smell or color to it. i just wanna figure out where the hell is it coming from first it was the back now the front and to top it all off to make it harder now the circle of water i found is under the dash area so i know it aint the t-tops.

well see its so perfect it was like a perfect circle no line of wetness leading up to it or nothing. when the rear seat messed up it was not on the seat or under it.

The first thing I'd check would be the heater core, but beyond that, it sounds very odd.

I had the exact same thing happening to me and couldn't figure out why. finally I took it to the body shop and they felt so bad cuz I was so dumb they didn't charge me for it. but it ended up being where I ran my amp power wire through the grommet underneath the PCM on the passenger side. Water was following the cable and puddling in the back seat floor most of the time, sometimes in the front. They gave the car back to me in pieces though cuz the whole underneath was soaked for a month til it finally aired out. I ended up throwing some of the insulation away since it had so much mold. If you have a wire going through that grommet check it out. I just gobbed it with sealant and haven't had a leak since!

I had water leakage in my WS6 and it was caused by a clogged drain plug for the evaporator core, It would start pissing when the A.C. was on. Check it out who knows, good luck

Well, sounds very similar to my situation! Someone already posted a link to the thread. Since then, I've determined that it's not just the driver's side weatherstripping. The big problem is actually coming from the hatch. Weatherstripping back there is looking awful. What's odd - I never SEE it dripping, but I've noticed a trail of condensation. Anyways, I would highly suggesting removing your carpeting ASAP! It's gotta be soooaked.

i would bet it is the evaporator. take some wire and shove it in the drain hole. look out, there will be a lot of water following it. lol

The drain hole is located by the pass side cat. on the bottom of the box is a small hole mybe a half an in hole. Take a small screwdriver an insert it. ONLY AN INCH OR TWO or you run the risk of ******* up the evaporator core. After that water should come out. What it is going on is it's a calcum build-up, and prob. dirt too. Good luck either way
