Default my car has no ***** below 25mph

i have a bolt on 99 automatic Z28. its got long tubes, true duals, ls6 intake, shift kit, 3.42 gear, ported throttle body and a bunch of other lil crap. anyhow the car has absolutely no power below 25 mph or roughly 2700rpm. if i stab it out of the hole it cant even spin the tires. then at about 25mph the tires just start blazing. the car can't even do a braketorque either. i never had the car tuned after i did all the boltons. you think it needs a tune to adjust the timing? a stall? i dont get it. my buddies bone stock ls1 z28 just burns the tires from a dead stop

what gear is in the rearend? My guess is 2.73's which absolutly suck out of the hole. either put a different gear in there of put a stall in there.

Word, 2.73's ain't bad. I almost wish I'd kept mine and spent that money elsewhere.

I can easily burn the brand new 275s on the back of my stock 2.73 car. If you stab it from a dead stop they spin NO PROBLEM. Hell, they even spin from a slow roll (5-10mph). Not to mention, the original poster mentioned that he had gears anyway (in bold below):

Sounds to me like something is wrong with the car in question. If I floor my 2.73 A4 car (only has a catback and lid) below 25mph, it pulls plenty hard for a stock car. 35mph and below gives me a nice swift downshift to 1st, and the car pulls great.

Thanks for the Bold type BS but I'm not an idiot. He edited his post with mods after I had posted. I didn't know anyhintg about the car.

Also I never said anyhitng about lighting the tires up either.. I siad they suck out of the hole. My car has 2.73's too and on the stock stall on BFG DR's my car would do like he stated and spin the tires after the rpms came up a bit. On normal street tires yeah it would light them up.

hmm someting is not right. when I had my 3.42 I could even chirp them from 2-3 and 2nd gear it would spin alittle but off the line it would smoke.
now that I went back to my old 2.73 ( I do alot of high way driving but I do miss my 3.42 they pulled alot harder but even with my 2.73 I could smoke them off the line and even at a roll5-10 mph I can burn them.

but I have to give alot of credit to my torque converter, that thing rocks.

but if I do get a comuter car for work then I would go to 3.73

On the contrary it does, my buddy has a lingenfelter vette and it runs way too rich, hes told me that the more he pounds the **** out of it the better it runs. Reason being that at idle and low rpm's it builds up fuel and actually has to much fuel because the mixture is being thrown off, and once the excess is burnt off its F***ing rediculous. So the fact that its running so rich is most liekly your problem I suggest getting a good tune, cause I used to have a automatic and from a roll in first it would break loose and that was stock.

yea my buddy has a hp tuner but i gotta buy the credits for a 99. so once that happens i'll get it tuned. it chirps the tires from 1st to 2nd no problem its just low rpms it has no *****. i think its a combo of the stock tune and a bad torque converter

and by the way, i listed all my mods the 1st time i made this post, the only thing i didnt mention was a 3.42 gear. but i did say it had a gear in it. everyone just jumped to conclusions that it had a 2.73 so thats when i edited it. it came stock with a 3.23 by the way

to be honest, i dunno. about 2 months ago i was driving to work and it kinda felt like the torque converter was locking up. then i got on the highway and the car was fine. then at work i went to go pick up some parts and the same thing happnened. it just felt like the converter was locking up. and ever since that day, it hasnt happened again. and keep in mind the car is my daily driver, not just some weekend cruiser
