Default Clunk noise, have no idea what..??

The other night I was out and noticed one hell of a loud clunk noise.

I decided to give it some gas off the line to get the tires spinning and such ( prolly 3/4 throttle) and it started to wheel hop, at the last hop I guess, it did the clunk and shifted the whole rear it felt like.

Does anyone know why it does this?, it does it whenever I get wheel hop or I put it sideways on a turn and am 3/4+ throttle, It's buggin me, it was doing it last year as well. Shops took a look underneath and can't notice anything out of the ordinary... is it the bushings? or something bottoming out? they also say it looks like the bump stops havn't even been touched, I'm confused..anyone?

Also the Rear Lower Control arms were Tightened REAL good, so I doubt it's that.

Well, wheel-hop is not good on anything. Are your rear control arm bushings shot? IMO, the stock arms are junk and would replace them quickly. Could be a transmission or torque arm mount.

check the bolts on the torque arms like he said, doubt it's the transmission.. the bolts on your torque arm might be somewhat loose, it could be causing the wheel hop.

good chance its the lower control arms my bushing were shot after less than 60,000 miles and the rear end was shifting to the point where i would have to keep the wheel cocked one direction to keep it straight down the road and when i had it on the highway you could here a howling im guessing from the u-joints being slightly misaligned

get some new lower control arms with better bushings wheel hop will be thing of the past

I was refering the transmission mount there, not the trans itself. If it's shot and the car is hopping and the mounts bad, the trans can shift.
